The Institute for Family and Community Advancement rises as a bold, values-driven alternative—one rooted in family resilience, educational freedom, economic self-reliance, and justice reform.
A Bold Disruption: IFCA and EBLM’s Vision for Change
In a time marked by shifting social, economic, and cultural challenges, Every Black Life Matters (EBLM) is proud to launch the Institute for Family and Community Advancement (IFCA). Just as the Trump administration is poised to disrupt the status quo in American leadership, EBLM is on a parallel path to disrupt outdated, ineffective models of advocacy. This launch marks a seismic shift—a strategic challenge to traditional narratives and systems that have failed Black families and communities for far too long.
For too long, traditional civil rights organizations such as the NAACP and Urban League have monopolized advocacy for Black communities. While their historic contributions are undeniable, their modern priorities have largely aligned with political agendas that often overlook core issues plaguing our families and communities. The Institute for Family and Community Advancement rises as a bold, values-driven alternative—one rooted in family resilience, educational freedom, economic self-reliance, and justice reform.
A Vision Rooted in Empowerment
EBLM has tirelessly worked to address the foundational struggles faced by Black families and communities. With the IFCA, we aim to bridge the gap between research, grassroots action, and policy solutions to foster sustainable change. This institute stands as a response to the longstanding neglect of family stability, fatherhood engagement, and economic opportunity. It reintroduces the principles of self-reliance, dignity, and faith as the cornerstones of progress.
The newly released report, The State of Black Life in America, underscores the urgent need for this initiative. Over the past six decades, the very structures that once empowered Black communities have eroded under progressive policies. Government welfare programs inadvertently penalized marriage, fatherhood became marginalized, and public education systems failed to serve our children. Today, more than 70% of Black children grow up without fathers in their homes—a devastating crisis that feeds cycles of poverty, crime, and academic failure.
Key Areas of Focus
The Institute for Family and Community Advancement will address five critical areas:
Family Stability: Rebuilding the foundation of Black families by promoting fatherhood, marriage, and community-driven solutions over government dependency. Policies that incentivize family cohesion will be at the forefront.
Education and School Choice: Advocating for parental choice in education to break the cycle of failing public schools. Families must be empowered to pursue charter, private, or homeschooling options to ensure their children’s success.
Economic Empowerment: Promoting entrepreneurship, reducing regulatory barriers, and creating pathways for Black business ownership. The Trump administration’s previous success in fostering Black business growth sets a promising precedent.
Justice Reform and Safety: Building on the success of the First Step Act to restore fairness and reduce incarceration rates. The IFCA will also advocate for responsible immigration policies that protect vulnerable Black communities.
Health and Wellness: Addressing disparities through private, faith-based, and community-driven health solutions. Our families deserve access to preventive care, mental health support, and nutrition resources without bureaucratic inefficiency.

A Strategic Alignment with the Trump Administration
The incoming administration presents a historic opportunity to advance policies aligned with IFCA’s mission. President Trump’s first term demonstrated measurable success for Black families and businesses, from the First Step Act to record-breaking Black entrepreneurship rates. Just as Trump disrupted conventional politics to drive change, the IFCA will disrupt traditional advocacy models to deliver meaningful, measurable results. By prioritizing family stability, economic self-reliance, and parental choice, the IFCA will hold this administration accountable while driving progress for Black communities.
Unlike organizations tethered to political agendas, the IFCA remains steadfast in its mission to empower families, free communities from dependency, and reignite hope for a brighter future. This is not merely a policy initiative—it is a movement to reclaim the strength and dignity of Black life in America.

As we celebrate this launch, we invite community leaders, families, policymakers, and supporters to join us. The challenges ahead are significant, but so are the opportunities for meaningful change. The Institute for Family and Community Advancement is more than a vision—it is the beginning of a new era for Black families and communities across the nation.
